Doug was born in Metairie, Louisiana in 1953, but his family moved to the Phoenix area in 1965 where he has lived ever since. He attended John F. Long School in Maryvale, Glendale High School, Arizona State University and the Arizona State University Law School. He graduated from Arizona State with a Bachelor’s degree in secondary education, history with high distinction in 1975. He graduated from law school, cum laude, in 1979. After law school, Doug worked briefly as a criminal defense attorney until he joined the law firm of Evans, Kitchel and Jencks.
