Hand-N-Hand Therapy was founded in 1990 by Diane Stroud PT, Advanced Certified Rolfer and Pamela Wood PT, LLCC (certified Lymphedema therapist). Having met through the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA), both brought unique skills to the field. Diane having a passion for women's health and the mind/body connection; and Pam with the desire to mix the art with the science of the physical therapy field. Together they joined forces to create one of the longest standing woman owned, holistic physical therapy clinics in Virginia. And in 2007 Hand N Hand Therapy officially became SWaM certified and will proudly join the ranks of other small, women owned minority businesses. Our past 29 years of experience in physical therapy and rolfing has made us understand the body as a balanced structure that lends itself to efficient and fluid movement patterns. When this balance is disrupted through physical or life stresses, a "dis-ease" of function may develop, ultimately manifesting as annoying or incapacitating symptoms. As seasoned manual therapists we attempt to identify these imbalances and provide the necessary reeducation to enable the body to reclaim a greater state of health, comfort and balance.
