Since its creation in 2001, as a result of the merger of the Hawarden Chamber of Commerce and the Hawarden Economic Development Corporation, the Hawarden Area Partnership for Progress (HAPP) has focused its efforts on making Hawarden a better place to live, work, worship, and play. The merger enabled us to work together more efficiently in one direction, with one agenda, to progress further toward our goals. Since that time, we've found that our leadership is not only capable of incredible vision for our community's future, but also of practical and well-planned action that makes our dreams become realities. HAPP is a non-profit business organization made up of and led by a group of professionals who volunteer their time. Our mission is to build a thriving economic environment by promoting the community and assisting the growth of business and employment opportunities through vision and leadership. Our members benefit from our services through networking opportunities, enhanced exposure, educational programs, and many other avenues provided to assist in the growth and expansion of their businesses. In addition, HAPP works together with the City Council on economic development in order to increase the number of local job opportunities, improve the overall economic prosperity of our area, increase property values, stabilize tax rates and improve our quality of life.
