Barbara’s experience at Harbor includes knowledge of students, staff and many other office responsibilities that take place daily. She says that her favorite part of working in a special education school, is greeting students and families, and seeing their joy in being part of this wonderful school.

Our program provides the student with the experience of working at a job within the school setting. Each student is provided with on-the-job training. The student’s time at work is recorded and his or her job performance is evaluated. This work experience helps the students to develop the work and social skills that are necessary prior to their placement at a job site in the local community.

Social skills remain a vital area of focus for our students and we continue to provide a variety of activities to instruct, develop and enhance these skills within our school program. Our students will be traveling to St. Dominic School in Brick to see their annual music production which is “ Twinderella ” this year. They will also have several special social opportunities upcoming including an evening family dance to be held on March 28th from 7:00-9:00pm in our gym and a Talent Show to be held on April 9th from 10:00-11:30 in our gym.
