Bill Hargreaves is a 1972 graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law and was admitted to the California State Bar in December of 1972. Mr. Hargreaves received an advanced [LLM] degree in taxation law from USD Law School in 2000. He is a partner in the Family Law Firm of Hargreaves & Taylor. Mr. Hargreaves is a Family Law Specialist, first Certified by the State Bar of California in 1980. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers; former chair of the California State Bar Family Law Advisory Commission to the Board of Legal Specialization; and a former Vice President of the San Diego County Bar Association. Mr. Hargreaves is active in various Bar Association committees and frequently lectures locally and nationally on California Family Law topics. He has served as Chair of the County Lawyer Referral Service and served on the Family Law Specialists Executive Committee. Mr. Hargreaves has taken many complex divorce cases through trial and has extensive experience dealing with difficult financial issues, including those involving tracing and business valuation. In addition to his experience as a trial lawyer, Mr. Hargreaves partners with Mary Mudd Quinn Ph.D. to provide Mediation Services for parties who are divorcing, negotiating post-Judgment support issues, or negotiating pre-nuptial agreements. The firm also has extensive experience in preparing and reviewing pre-nuptial and Domestic Partner agreements. Return to Top Nancy A. Taylor, a native of San Diego, is a graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law. She has practiced law in San Diego since 1986. She is a Certified Family Law Specialist and has been a named partner in the law firm of Hargreaves and Taylor, LLP, since its inception in January 1996. Ms. Taylor's practice not only includes litigation, specializing in the areas of dissolution, custody/visitation, child and spousal support matters, but she is also trained as a collaborative divorce attorney. She also is experienced in negotiating and drafting of Premarital and Postnuptial Agreements. Her goal is to settle cases when possible, but will pursue litigation in the event settlement is not an option. From 1998 to present, she has been a member of the Family Court Services Subcommittee for the San Diego County Certified Family Law Specialist. Ms. Taylor is also a member of the Collaborative Family Law Group of San Diego. She has further been involved in the legal community serving on the Executive Board of the San Diego County Certified Family Law Specialists. She has also been a speaker for the San Diego County Certified Family Law Specialist, International Association of Collaborative Practice, the Continuing Education of the Bar and San Diego Volunteer Lawyers. In addition, she sits as a court appointed temporary judge for the Superior Court, County of San Diego, Family Law Division. On top of her extensive knowledge in family law, Ms. Taylor also has considerable knowledge in the area of life, property and casualty insurance, having owned and managed her own insurance agency for a period of six years prior to practicing law.
