By the late 1970s there had been many changes in the design, with trial and error, The Harmon SO2 Generator has been modified and produced into a machine that was very popular with the local farmers. They moved their operation from Lemoore, CA to Bakersfield, CA. They started shipping these units all over California, Arizona and Nevada. Darrell and John Harmon had built a thriving business. The generator business was so much more profitable than the ranching business that they concentrated on it full time. The Harmon SO2 Generator is still manufactured by John Harmon since the death of his father, Darrell Harmon in 1986, and now the next generation of Harmon's, John's son, Jeff Harmon. As of July 2002, there have been 1145 Harmon SO2 Generators sold world wide including Australia, Scotland, Hawaii, Japan, Saudi Arabia.
