Description
Lonestar Legacy 2001, a group from the Bandera Convention and Visitors Bureau, some Trail-riders known as the Badlands Trail-riders of South Texas, some Volunteer Park Rangers, the Park Ranger and a few others were sitting around listening to Frank Cadena tell his story's. The idea of was brought up of having a large event in 2002 in conjunction with the Lonestar Legacy Weekend promoted by the state. A trail ride, area celebrity's, a dance, and whatever else could be coordinated in a year. We all agreed it would take some organization and time. Over the next few months, many phone calls took place to Texas Parks and Wildlife in Austin, Hill Country SNA, Bandera and surrounding areas to determine the criteria needed to put on such an event according to state guidelines.
