Description

The Headington Institute was established in 2001 to provide psychological and spiritual support for humanitarian aid and disaster relief personnel worldwide. Until recently, little was known about the enduring emotional challenges faced by humanitarian workers and the most effective ways to assist them with critical incident stress, vicarious trauma, and burnout. Fortunately, mounting evidence suggests that much can be done to help, and the Institute exists to partner with aid organizations seeking to provide support for the wellbeing of their personnel. The Headington Institute provides a collaborative network of mental health professionals offering a variety of services to humanitarian workers and aid and development organizations. The Institute specializes in: - Training and education programs to help humanitarian workers understand and cope with traumatic stress - Counseling - Orientation & debriefing for humanitarian workers who travel internationally - Consulting on effective staff care strategies and procedures Click here for more information on services we offer.
