Health Care Credit Union was incorporated in 1960 as the Mercy Hospital Credit Union. That common bond has grown over the years to include all workers in any area of health care or related fields that live or work in Winnebago County, Wisconsin. In addition, HCCU serves the employees of Sacred Heart/St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, as well as a number of select employer groups. With additions and changes throughout the years, however, HCCU continues as a "closed charter" credit union in that only health care workers, related employee groups, and their families are eligible for membership.
