We have been informed by national and state healthcare leaders that there will continue to be many uninsured people and that there will not be enough primary care sites for patients with insurance. In addition to those gaps, the ACA does not cover dental care which we provide at HIS. We know that the need for HIS to provide services will continue. The Board of Directors is committed to providing a whole person medical home for those who are transitioning to other services or to those who will not have another option for care.

HIS is a one-of-a-kind resource for Grand Rapids and Kent County residents– a place where all kinds of healing can begin. Located in the Burton Heights neighborhood of Grand Rapids, we serve patients from all over the city and surrounding areas. HIS welcomes and respects each patient. We strive to meet every need through our large range of services and are proud to offer top-quality care benefiting from the service and expertise of over 75 volunteer medical personnel.
