Health Plan Advocate is an innovative and positive approach to managing health care. We are patient-centered as opposed to service-centered. This means our main focus is helping patients with wellness and health instead of only trying to change provider behavior. We also help patients achieve positive clinical outcomes and work with their providers to eliminate unnecessary and questionable services. HPA replaces negative aspects of managed care by: - offering education and assistance with health issues to members and their families. - working to eliminate penalties that often irritate and confuse members. - offering a program that is helpful to members and their covered dependents while reducing questionable services and costs. In addition, we educate patients and provider about medical and health plan issues including billing assistance. At the same time, we help with referrals to health professionals while using cost containment techniques that are integrated into our disease and case management programs. We are a patient advocate group that looks at the big picture by balancing the health needs of the patient with the financial realities of the health plan.
