Description

HealthCare Interactive was founded in 1997 by John Hobday, an educational researcher and software developer, and Dr. Stanley Smith, a nationally recognized geriatrician. Dr. Smith serves as HCI's Medical Director, and Mr. Hobday serves as President and CEO. Since its founding in 1997, HCI has collaborated directly with nationally known Alzheimer's and dementia researchers at organizations such as the Duke University, Emory University, the University of Minnesota, the University of Iowa, the University of Michigan, the national office of the Alzheimer's Association, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and National Institutes of Health. The results of these efforts are what we believe to be the most innovative set of dementia-related learning products available on the market today. These programs allow flexibility in educational training and are available for review 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Each program specifically targets family and professional caregivers, individuals working in nursing homes, professional hospital personnel, and caregivers. Our research has shown that the knowledge gained from our products reduces caregiver burden, uncertainty, stress, and some of the frustrations of caregiving. It also aids in reducing the cost of care.
