I believe that business can be a powerful vehicle for transformation in the world. And that’s why I’m passionate about helping heart-centred businesses off the ground, to grow and to succeed. But when I say ‘success’, let me be clear about that – For over ten years I’ve been seeking, studying and applying business and marketing strategies that are aligned with my heart, soul and the deeper values in life. For me, those values include spiritual awakening, social justice, environmental sustainability and world peace.

This is a good time to digress and define a bit of minor lingo. In my Sufi order we tend to say, “the love” rather than “love.” It’s a small thing to distinguish between being in the caffeinated-jolt-fix sensation of squishy-love versus The Love, meaning deep in an ocean of Oneness, mercy, and caring. Kinda an important difference. Both are good, and yet the first one fades, returns, fades again, and the other one just Is. The squishy-love is the one we’re usually familiar with.

Being heart-centered, following spirit, connecting to Source seems to be all the rage these days in certain small business circles. And why not? It seems so fun, so nourishing, and it certainly seems to be effective. What gets glossed over are the costs of being heart-centered. You may already be familiar with the pain of being out of your heart in business, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t real costs to doing business in a heart-centered way. Don’t get me wrong, your business can thrive tremendously well from being heart-centered.

My favorite jobs here have been content editing, working with clients and co-teaching with Mark. Now they call me the Heart Monitor and I work behind the scenes with our growing team. I have the same Sufi training as Mark, as well as a love of nature and a past incarnation as a massage therapist. I’m a trained facilitator of the System Constellation work of Bert Hellinger, and have studied a variety of energetic, communication and relationship healings.
