Through it all, Heartland Software Development, Inc. has consistently provided its clients with quality software solutions and honest answers to their IT related business problems, and has grown slowly and steadily along the way. Heartland was founded in 1989 by veteran software consultant Gary Edgar, along with his wife, Terri. Gary began his software career in 1978 as a programmer, senior analyst, project manager and then consultant for a variety of companies including McDonnell Douglas Corporation, and CH2M Hill, a Milwaukee engineering consulting firm. While Terri came from the field of critical care nursing, a factor which helped the firm break into the healthcare market, she took on the role of office manager, thus enabling her husband to concentrate on the technological and client service aspects of the business.
