I began writing at the young age of seven, with my first poem titled "Getting High", although the subject matter was beyond my years of knowledge it exhibits the world I grew up in. My passion for writing continued with more opinion pieces than I can bare to remember and journal entries that were recreated for book entry. I attended Owens Community college for an Associates in the arts and sciences. When I began having children and when my youngest son was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, I focused on my writing career, where I could balance being a stay-at-home mom and having a career. Giving me the opportunity to learn the nuts and bolts of the outside writing and publishing industry. Since that time I have have been published in array of magazines and periodicals on a variety of topics including parenting, short stories, interview pieces and opinion editorials. Sharing my knowledge with readers in regards to successfully creating and running of a home based business was a pure joy. I created and maintained three businesses while living back home in Ohio. In 2004 I won "Mother of the Year" through 92.5 Kiss FM and Alan Miller Jewelers. Thanks to these great sponsors for making mother's day so special every year. While conducting my business and writing I found the time to volunteer to causes that share my vision for a better community and happier and more productive citizens. I have volunteered with Volunteers of America and YWCA's Battered woman's shelter as an inspirational speaker. Where I have won awards for my dedication to both these causes. I taught classes for two years throughout this time with Oregon Careers and Technology in Oregon, Ohio. Within the last few years I have dedicated my time to the art of screenplays, my new love, which have been the most challenging and rewarding for me.
