Hegemier Tire Service was founded in 1966 in Wapakoneta by Roger Hegemier. He soon became one of Goodyear's most successful dealers in Ohio. In 1980 he purchased the Van Wert location from Goodyear. His 2 sons, Kurt and Craig, joined him and now are the current owners. Craig purchased the Van Wert location in 1996. Craig grew up working around cars since he was 13 years old. He attended many schools and workshops. In 1979 Craig attained his ASE Master Technician Certification. In 2002 he was awarded the NAPA Technician of the Year award. Craig equiped his shop with the latest high-tech diagnostic and service equipment and tools. Currently employed as technicians are Mathew Denney and Charles Baker. Both Matt and Chuck have college degrees in Automotive Technology. Craig's wife Kris manages the office and is the receptionist.
