Description
Heidi has been a baton twirler since age four and a dancer since age six. As a child, Heidi modeled for local Chicago stores, K-Mart, and Sears and appeared in several stage productions. As twirler she trained with coaches in Long Beach, Ca and Chicago, IL. She won numerous state, regional, and national titles. At age 15, Heidi toured Europe with other twirlers performing in Italy, Germany, France, Austria, and Switzerland. She was member of the United States Twirling Team from 1976 through 1982. Heidi taught summer twirling camps in Ohio for several years. She has also taught in Oklahoma, Iowa, Nebraska, and Illinois. She has coached state, regional, and national individual and team champions since 1977.Heidi was a Park Hill High School cheerleader and feature twirler for the Trojan Marching Band. While at Park Hill, she performed for the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals including a performance at the World Series. Heidi attended Missouri Western State College on full scholarship and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She was the feature twirler for the M.W.S.C. Golden Griffin Marching Band and a Golden Girl for the Kansas City Kings basketball team.Heidi was one of five women from the United States and Canada to be invited to Peru, South America as a Good Will Ambassador. Heidi has performed in Hawaii and Australia. As a dancer she won a national scholarship to attend the Tremaine Dance Center in Hollywood, California. She continues to study and maintain her skills in current dance styles and instruction techniques. Some of her students have become teachers and studio owners themselves. Her competition dance and twirl students are National winners and have gone on to become professional dancers. Heidi's greatest accomplishment is the adoption of her daughter Holly Grace. Her love of baton twirling and dance is something she wants to pass on to her students.Emily has been dancing since age 2. After high school, Emily traveled to Los Angeles, CA to further her dance education. She had the privilege attending classes at the Millennium Dance Complex, which led to greater opportunities. She received a role as a principal dancer with the North Hollywood Jazz Ensemble under the direction of world renowned teacher/choreographer Michael Menna. Emily has also appeared in many print ads, commercials, ABC family show "Switched" and CBS mini-series "Gone in the Night." HDC welcomes her back and is happy to have her as an instructor. As a former Hero she uses her experiences to teach the dance team. Emily also teaches combo, ballet, hip hop, technique and dance line classes. Emily continues to further her skills in cosmetic application. She shares her passion for make-up with students and offers this service for weddings and other special events.
