Description

Heidi likes the architectural design side most: taking a client's idea, working out the 'kinks', detailing the structural connections, making the design as efficient as possible, working with engineers to get the most accurate structural and load calculations, and handing a finished project to an architect or permit department. She facilitates coordination between the various 'factions' (architect, engineer, electricians, plumbers, HVAC, etc).

Heidi Kahl is a drafter/designer with over 30 years extensive experience in architectural and structural drafting and design, most recently dealing in large commercial design projects. She has owned her own company for a number of years, as well as supervising departments and being a general contractor for various building sites, including the rebuild of her own house over the last two years. In rebuilding her own house, she took a very hands-on approach, applying the skills she knew best (drafting and design), to design new plans, obtain permits, and rebuild the house.
