Description
HELP of Southern Nevada responds to the changing needs of our growing community. We strategically expand our programs and refine our service delivery systems to better serve the poor, the homeless and those in crisis who come to us as a place of last resort. We pride ourselves on being 100% local and 100% accountable and engaging other organizations through collaboration to achieve maximum impact with the services we provide and the clients we serve.
The PATH Program is designed to provide services to persons who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless and have a Serious Mental Illness (SMI). The main goal is to obtain appropriate housing while engaging in formal mental health treatment.
Emergency Resource Services is the essential link between people needing services and those providing human services in our community. Services offered include rental assistance, utility assistance, bus passes, food vouchers, clothing vouchers, HOPWA, hygiene products, referrals to other services, and case management. ERS is key to HELP's ability to wrap services around clients so that self-sufficiency is obtained. Hundreds of households every year are prevented from becoming homeless through this program.
HELP of Southern Nevada was started by the Junior League of Las Vegas and was incorporated in 1970. It is a 501 (c) (3) organization that has grown exponentially since the inception, from an organization that served fewer than three hundred people a year, to one that will serve over 100,000 unduplicated people in a fiscal year.
