The partners have individually gained from thirty to forty-five or more years of experience for a combined total of over 100 years of experience in a wide variety of accounting and business areas. Additionally, there are several CPAs with fifteen to over twenty-five years of experience. Most CPAs have been with the firm the majority, or all, of their accounting career, providing consistency in service to clients and the culture of “quality service with integrity”. There are also younger CPAs on staff assuring the firm will be able to provide quality client service for years to come.

Started in the accounting profession in 2000, joined the firm in 2009. Has experience in income tax preparation and planning, small business consulting, agricultural tax planning, not-for-profit entity tax status and financial statements, bookkeeping advisor, financial audits, payroll services, assistance structuring the purchase or sale of a business, business transition planning, general financial advice, estate and gift tax planning.

Henkel & Associates, P.C. was founded in 1972 by James L. Henkel in Boone, Iowa. The practice has grown from no clients to a 3 partner, 8 CPA firm, with a total of 26 employees and five offices in Central Iowa. We believe gradual, deliberate growth ensures quality service with integrity is maintained. Firm policy has been to consistently do what is right for our clients. Your best interest and goals are our priority.

Joined the firm in 1988 and is in the office each tax season. Has experience in income tax preparation and planning, agricultural tax planning, general financial advice, estate, trust and gift tax planning.
