A 30-minute presentation by Qwireless asking to upgrade its equipment on a city water tower dominated Monday’s Eddyville City Council meeting. Phil Lambert, Qwireless general manager, asked the council to approve the upgrades, but his request received no action. He cited two relevant issues: “One issue — we’ve got existing services, and we’ve got reconfiguration to those services that we need to be doing,” he said. He added that a company moving in would have to “work around” Q’s existing service, which is difficult to do.
Changes in Lyon County’s emergency management team were announced Monday. Bob Langhi became the county’s emergency manager and Adam Lyon his assistant after Eric Nelson announced he would step aside. Nelson, a retired colonel in the U.S. Air Force and an ordained minister, announced he has accepted the full-time pastorate at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
