Description
Designed by our team of air cargo experts, Hermes is a state-of-the-art cargo management system, built with the specific needs of air cargo handlers in mind, and providing a complete and integrated IT solution that encompasses all the physical handling, documentation and messaging, in real-time. We have been at the forefront of our industry for the last ten years and, with over 200 years of combined cargo handling experience, our cargo team really do understand this industry. Hermes streamlines ground handling processes by integrating a real-time paperless warehouse with back-office documentation and billing that will typically increase operational throughput without increasing costs. It also embraces the latest technology allowing the use of iPads and iPhones as well as the standard hand-held terminals and barcode RFID technology.
Steve Montgomery, Chief Cargo Officer at HERMES Logistics Technologies says, “As a provider of an air cargo management IT solution, HERMES has been keenly tracking the progress of e-freight, watching the impact on industry technology requirements, as well as the effect the proposed changes will have on day to day cargo handling operations.
“With tight timescales and the pressure to make significant changes, the team at HERMES has supplied us with both a flexible and comprehensive solution. HERMES has an in-depth working knowledge of the cargo handling industry and has fully understood our need for change, plus the necessity to provide our customers with a superior level of service. We look forward to reaping the benefits resulting from this collaboration,” states Nikolai Dinges, Managing Director, VG Cargo.
Under the new deal, Celebi began providing TAM with cargo handling services at the end of May this year, while it will start handling cargo for LAN in July. The additional volume represents a 30 percent annual increasein freight for Celebi in Frankfurt.
