Description
High Performance Dance Center is known for high quality technical training in a nurturing and caring environment. The Goal at High Performance Dance Center is to provide the highest possible standard of training for all levels while allowing students freedom of expression. Artistic Director, Lisa Roth, began her dance training at the age of 7, studying ballet, tap and jazz styles. At the age of 13, she began training at Eleanor's School of Dance, under teacher Christie Leonardi Pantalone. Lisa furthered her training at Merritt Dance Center, taking many classes in classical ballet and pointe, along with jazz and tap classes. While training with Marlene and Mara Merritt, Lisa became affiliated with the Schenectady Regional Ballet Company. In 1995, Lisa was a member of the "Merritt Dancers", a tap group performing at the Annual Tap Extravaganza in NYC, sharing the stage with such greats as Jimmy Slyde, Chuck Green, Buster Brown and Savion Glover. She was also a teacher at Canajoharie School of Dance for one year before opening High Performance. Since opening High Performance in 1996, Lisa has continued her training through master classes at Broadway Dance Center in NYC and convention classes through Tremaine Dance Conventions and Dance Masters of America. In the Spring of 2004, Lisa became certified by test to teach through Dance Masters of America. Caitlin Clark began her training with Christie Leonardi Pantalone at "Eleanor's School of Dance", where she studied for many years. While at "Eleanor's", she was a member of their competition team, as well as a soloist, receiving many high score awards and honors from competitions such as Showbiz, Starquest and Starpower. Caitlin also studied at High Performance for many years and was a member of the "HPDC" competition team. Caitlin began teaching at High Performance in 2002. She has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and is currently working on obtaining her Bachelor's Degree.
