Description

Design and construction of functional and cost-effective structures require a thorough understanding of local soil, rock and groundwater conditions. High Plains Engineering & Design, LLC provides a wide range of services to support all phases of a project, from preliminary design through completion of the building process. The experience and expertise of engineers and technicians throughout our company, can help to assess the construction and long-term performance risks associated with subsurface conditions. We participate as a vital member of the project team, focusing on project objectives and using innovative technologies to provide practical design recommendations.

Foundation Designs transfer loads from structures to the earth with either a shallow or deep foundation system. We provide both types of foundation designs for a variety of structures from a residential home, steel frame building, reinforced concrete tank, loading dock, light or sign pole bases, weigh scale, or full structural design for Dairy Facilities.

We provide Project Management Services for projects that require multiple Engineering Disciplines such as Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, as well as Civil Engineering for Drainage Plans.

Engineered Septic Designs are required when the percolation rate is less than 5 minutes per inch (mpi) or greater than 60 mpi and/or sites that have limiting layers within 5 feet of existing grade. All rural commercial sites require engineered septic designs regardless of the percolation rate. We provide engineered septic designs that meet county specific regulations.

Geotechnical engineering is the practice of using the principles of soil mechanics and rock mechanics to investigate subsurface conditions and the engineering behavior of earth materials. By evaluating the stability of man-made soil deposits and natural slopes, as well as testing the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of surfaces and sub-surfaces one can determine risks posed by site conditions as well as design and monitor earthworks and structure foundation construction.
