The Public Relations and Marketing Department at High Point Regional Health System has received the Bronze Anvil Award of Commendation from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for creative tactics in a PR campaign.Aaron Wall, marketing coordinator for the health system, accepted the commendation awarded in the Blogs category for the Patient Blog program. The health system was the first hospital to provide an outlet for patients to share their medical-related comments on a blog, using the hospital Web site (www.highpointregional.com). They received media coverage on an international scale, including national television and international print publications, for the project.The Bronze Anvil Awards and the Awards of Commendation were created by PRSA in 1969 to recognize outstanding public relations tactics, the individual items or components of programs or campaigns. They are awarded in 50 categories and subcategories including consumer relations, newsletter, website, feature story, press/media kit and blogs.
