Using the Great Expectations model, teachers on both campuses work with students to set high expectations for success - valuing citizenship among teachers and students as partners working towards each student's potential. The Great Expectations Program, founded in 1991, is a scientifically-based research educational reform model.

For over 30 years Hill School has provided students who learn differently with a specialized education in a supportive environment. ( HISTORY ) Located in Southwest Fort Worth near McCart and I-20, the Fort Worth Campus is easily accessible from most areas of Fort Worth. ( MAP ) Additionally, daily bus service is available from pick-up sites in Arlington and Northeast Tarrant County.

By providing a structure in which parents are kept up-to-date on student progress, the middle school is dedicated to keeping the lines of communication open through three formal, scheduled conferences during the school year, progress reports, and a follow-up system (FASH) for late assignments. We are open to parent communication throughout the year using the planner, through e-mail, by phone, or during additional parent conferences. Working as a team with students and parents provides the best possible educational experience for everyone.

Hill School has been named a School of Distinction by the All Kinds of Minds Institute. The designation came about as a result of an extensive screening and evaluation program which recognized Hill School for its commitment to teacher training and on-going excellence in serving the individual needs of students. A non-profit organization founded in 1973, Hill has expanded to a fully accredited second through twelfth grade campus for different learners in Fort Worth, and a first through seventh grade campus in Grapevine, with eighth grade to be added in fall 2010.

Counselor: Pat Stevens is licensed as a Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Chemical Dependency Counselor. She has been a school counselor at all levels and has worked with young people in both private practice and agency settings. In addition, Ms. Stevens is certified as a Special Education teacher in Texas, and has a special place in her heart for young people who are unique, creative, wondrous, and always able to teach us new things.
