Description
Since its opening chord, rock and roll has been about playing live, and no group did it better, and with more passion and improvisational skills than the original Allman Brothers Band. Founded in 1969 by visionary guitarist Duane Allman, the ABB combined elements of blues, rock, jazz and country into a combustible mixture, and in doing so created a new genre of music. Their music was best heard live, and the group's finest moments came at the Fillmore East, promoter Bill Graham's iconic concert hall located in New York City's East Village.
