Dr. Randall Adamson hails from Grand Prairie, TX, a suburb of Dallas. As a young man, he was always very active in sports, and he played on the South Grand Prairie High School varsity basketball team. During his junior year, however, he injured his back. The team trainer told him that he had a sprain/strain injury and that it would "go away shortly." Dr. Adamson spent the rest of the season wearing a back brace, receiving treatment from the trainer, and taking pain medication. About a month after the season ended, his back condition was not improving, and he was told that he would most likely need back surgery to be able to play his senior year.
