Founded in 1811, The Town of Esopus is historically a port town, evidenced by its many active marinas in the hamlets of Connelly and Port Ewen. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, The Klyne Esopus Museum, offers a large collection artifacts and documents relating to the town’s maritime activity, as well as its local and Native American history.
