Homestead Orchard has been in Woodstock, Illinois for 22 years. We feature 14 different varieties of apples, plus lots of Rhubarb and Red Raspberries...and you can 'pick your own'. Our store is located in a century old horse barn, with authentic hand hewn timbers in the structure. Keeping bees is a natural for the pollinating and we sell our 'clover honey' and later the wildflower honey. We use the 'cappings' to make beautiful beeswax candles which are all made by hand. Dried flowers from our perrenials permiate the store and you can see many different kinds hanging from the beams...crunch some 'sweet anise' between your fingers and take in the aroma..we also dry our own birdhouse gourds and then make them into birdhouses or carve them with a place in the back to illuminate for the hollidays. Dried apple chips are made right here with no additives to make them as healthy as we can..dried hobby apples are also sold to hobbyists. We grow lots of chocolate mint to dry and sell as our very own TEA...the aroma and taste are great ! We try to utilize everything that grows here to make our very own Wreaths...an addition to any country home.
