Description

The restaurant is housed in the ground floor of a three-story Charleston shotgun dwelling. Built in 1897, the building reflects architectural traditions of early nineteenth century single house form. The ground floor of the building, which now houses the restaurant was orginally a barbershop and still boasts the original pounded tin ceiling and hardwood floors. And our beautiful outdoor patio will allow you to enjoy the low country sunshine almost year-round! Local Ingredients & Sustainability At Hominy Grill, we believe you are what you eat. We are deeply committed to serving fresh seasonal food prepared from ingredients that are produced locally whenever possible.For example, our eggs are from Deer Spring Farm in Lawndale, NC where the chickens are free-range. Some of our produce is from local farmers such as Dan Kennerty out on Wadmalaw Island and our fish comes from Kimberly and Raul Morales, a mom and pop operation that purchases fresh, local-caught fish just off the boats. We're always looking for new local suppliers so be sure to let us know if you know anyone. It's more effort to work this way but we believe you can taste the difference — we certainly can!
