No system available has a larger pole. The one-piece 8" square pole is a full 7 gauge thick. Other manufactures settle for a 4' overhang on top-model systems which puts the pole right on the baseline. In contrast, the Diamond's overhang has been extended to 5' making a regulation 4' distance from the baseline to backboard possible. The larger overhang also adds another level of safety for players driving in for lay-ups and boxing out underneath the basket.
