Description

Hoot gained in-depth knowledge of video and film production working for RW Video. In 1983, he established the first commercial video computer graphics operation in Wisconsin. As a beta test site for the Colorgraphics Artstar, Hoot pioneered the system development in 2D and 3D work. He created award-winning animation and video for clients like Miller Brewing, United Way and Mercury Outboards. In his work for area advertising agencies, he produced for a roster of blue-chip accounts, including Cellular One, CUNA Mutual, Kohler and Sentry Insurance. He's worked on hundreds of print and broadcast projects, from straightforward and clean graphic design to key roles in marketing planning and implementation. Hoot also developed expertise in public information and education programs working for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Television, radio, and print he created on drunk driving and seatbelts garnered numerous local, regional and national awards. From 1993 to 1997, Hoot was Graphics Editor at the Wisconsin State. There he developed electronic prepress procedures, designed books and editorial formats for events including the Rose Bowl, Super Bowl and Monona Terrace Grand Opening.
