Banks have outside shareholders who reap the bank’s profits. Credit unions have members, you, with ownership in the credit union. Income earned over and above operating expenses are returned to you, our members, in the form of higher dividends on deposits, lower loan rates, and lower fees, etc. Every year members vote for the Credit Union Board of Directors. Members may also apply for positions on the Board.Spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of the Credit Union; employees of the Credit Union; persons retired as pensioners or annuitants from the above employment; members of their immediate families, and organizations of such persons.
