Ron began his career as a structural designer of industrial buildings and processing plants. In 1979 he joined an Architectural/Engineering firm where he spent 10 years as Chief Engineer of the Civil, Structural and PME group. During his career, he has worked closely with many residential and commercial clients and the approving public agencies, ensuring that the finished products meet the needs of both the owners and those who will be utilizing the facilities. Ron also has several years of experience working at North Carolina Department of Transportation as a highway engineer. This has allowed him familiarity with the various approval procedures with DOT and other state and federal agencies. JOHN M. COMBS, P.E. He is responsible for the operations of the Chattanooga office including client development, project design and design reviews, governmental approvals, project scheduling within the Chattanooga office, and coordination with the Durham office. He has extensive office and field experience that allows for a seamless coordination of projects from inception to completion. JEFFERY H. LECKY, P.E. Prior to joining the firm he had worked in both the public and private sectors for over 15 years. In the public sector, Jeffery was on staff with a local municipality for over 5 years. He was the supervisor for the Engineering Review section that oversaw all water, sewer, street and stormwater plans, ensuring conformity with local and state standards. While in the private sector, he has designed single family subdivisions, multi-family complexes, and commercial and industrial sites. This includes meeting with clients at original project conception and working with them all the way through rezoning, site plan and construction drawing approvals, permitting, and construction administration. He has been involved in all aspects of planning, landscape architecture, zoning, historic preservation, and construction documents for the past 15 years. His work experience includes the completion of projects in Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia. Project experience includes master planning, parks, K-12 schools, universities, urban design, site design guidelines, wayfinding, ADA retrofits, residential and commercial design, construction documents and botanical gardens. Mr. Leigh brings insight from working with the public on design charette’s, open houses, community outreach, and public project facilitation.
