Counselor Biographies Our surf camp is celebrating its eleventh year. With thousands of satisfied campers you know we must be doing something right! Safety is the first thing we talk about and practice. Hot Wax Surf Camp has a full time director with 30 years experience who has been involved in managing Ocean life saving services, coaching and instruction and has lived and surfed here his entire life. All our instructors live locally and surf year round. Our camp is skill based as in other sports. The basic and intermediate skills we teach are proven to work. Our past clients over 1000 a year, for the last ten years give us a triple AAA+ rating. In addition, Hot Wax Surf Camp has also been featured in the Wall Street Journal and on CNN, & FOX news. Our instructors are second to none. Most are hand picked by Mike for their qualifications and the ability to deal with people of all ages and levels. All the instructors must be good surfers themselves, have CPR, First Aid and are trained in water safety techniques.
