The birth of Hot Wings in Pennsylvania. Way back in March of 1979, Vietnam Vets Paul And Andy Whitiak, co-owners of the Windsor Inn in Jermyn launched a new chapter in Pennsylvania s culinary history. They created the recipe, the technique and introduced the first batch of Original Chickin Pickin Lickin Wings to customers of their tavern. Soon after Hot Wings appeared on the menu, customer response was immediate and overwhelming. The Windsor Inn Hot Wing legacy began and was quickly spread by word of mouth. Windsor Hot Wings became the most popular Specialty Fun Food Item in Northeast Pennsylvania. In 1985, it was decreed that the Windsor Inn Hot Wings were the World s 2nd Best Hot Wings, second only to the original and famous hot wings served at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York since 1955.
