In 1964, Kenny partnered with his father, expanded the family tradition and began making his own handles to sell. House Handle Co. began with two old lathes Kenny purchased from a farmer who lived south of Eagle Rock. "The lathes were sitting out in a field rusted up. There was not a part on them that moved. We dug them out and before the farmer would sell me the lathes, he made me take them apart and get everything functioning again." After three days, Kenny had the machines working, and he had learned how to use them to make handles. In the 40 years since the Houses began manufacturing handles, the company has grown significantly. House Handle company has turned out millions of handles. Now in it s third generation, House Handle Co. is owned and operated by Ken House and his son, Chris House.
