Howard Carter Associates was established in Monterey in 1955 and has provided over 40 years of quality Structural Engineering services to the Monterey Peninsula and Central Coast areas. We have completed projects in both Northern California and Southern California, Arizona, Washington and the East Coast. Our staff includes four Registered Structural Engineers and a Registered Civil Engineer - each with knowledge and experience to design large and complex projects. We employ two Computer Engineers who handle our computer aided design and drafting and a CAD/Network Manager to ensure that our projects can be completed and transmitted rapidly. Our firm employs 10 people at present. We are proud to have 2 professional women in the firm: a Principal Structural Engineer and Office Manager. We keep abreast of new design, new materials, and new construction techniques, and use them when applicable. Because we have an understanding of both Architecture and Engineering, we are able to advise the Architect early in the preliminary stages on how to attain the desired results with the most economical and effective Structural System. In our firm, the Project Engineer is assigned the responsibility for a job and follows through from concept to completion.
