Founded in 1957, Howell's Motor Freight, Inc. is a privately held, Virginia based freight carrier providing refrigerated, dry and frozen truckload and distribution services primarily to the wholesale/retail food and grocery industry and its suppliers. Howell's Portsmouth Terminal has been operating a 25,000 sq. ft. temperature-controlled pool distribution warehouse for over 20 years.

Howell's terminal and warehouse facilities can handle your needs for refrigerated and/or dry shipments. We specialize in LTL and pool distribution to the wholesale/retail grocery industry. Our largest facility, in Charlotte, NC, offers on-site cooler and freezer space. We also have warehouse space available in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Howell's Motor Freight has been providing TL, LTL, and Pool Distribution services for shippers, private fleets and truckload carriers since 1957. Howell's temperature-controlled and dry freight service solutions will allow optimal alternatives with the new hours of service changes. We can deliver temperature-controlled and dry freight shipments that have missed appointments or have prohibitive scheduling, such as too many stop-offs. The new rules will require new solutions, and we already have them in place.
