Description

Human Resource Association of the Midlands (HRAM) is an organization whose members are human resource professionals in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metropolitan area. It is the local affiliated chapter of Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), which is the leading voice of the human resource profession, representing the interests of more than 190,000 professional and student members nationwide. From a founding group of nine, HRAM has grown to over 1000 members representing over 375 employers. Classified as a "super-mega" chapter, HRAM is one of the largest SHRM chapters in the United States, a remarkable accomplishment for an organization located in a metropolitan area of its size. The name was changed to the Personnel Association of the Midlands (PAM) to reflect the broadening geographic area represented by our membership. In 1958, the Association joined with other professionals across the nation when it became associated with the national organization, known at the time as the American Society of Personnel Administrators (ASPA). On September 1, 1989, ASPA changed its name to the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). On January 1, 1990, the Personnel Association of the Midlands (PAM) changed its name to the Human Resource Association of the Midlands (HRAM). This...
