Huelsmann Distributing Co. was founded by Herman Huelsmann in November 1976, in Trenton, Illinois, with one truck, Herman selling product having 6 routes in a 100 mile radius of Trenton. Selling primarily car soaps, polishes, tire repair & additives. In January 1978, Kevin (son) joined the business adding the second truck and more routes. Later in 1978, Vern Langenhorst joined us adding a third truck, then in 1981 we constructed a new building in Trenton. In June 1982 Scott (son) joined the business and opened up the St. Louis Area. In 1985 Herman was forced to go on disability and Mary became the sole proprieter. In November 1986 we starting formulating our own products consisting mostly of cleaners & dressings, then took the name of Car Chem Products as our trademark. In February 1987, Dale (son) joined us taking over the northern routes and also south to Mt. Vernon. In April 1988 Huelsmann Distributing Co. became a Corporation, Mary as President, Kevin-VP, Dale-Tres., Scott-Sec. (Somewhere in this time frame) we added a complete Body Shop line. At the present time we are adding a complete line of Automotive Paint (that we mix ourself). In May 1993, Lori (daughter) came to us as Operations Manager. Then in October 1997, Linda (daughter) joined as our Administrative Assistant. We are now in business 25 years and cover more than 200 square miles. We also have distributors in Decatur, Illinois, Paducah, Kentucky, St. Louis, MO, and some eastern states.
