Description

Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland is the largest distribution network for emergency food in Cuyahoga County. For low-income people, food is often the only elastic item in a tight budget. Yet without sound nutrition, infants cannot grow or develop properly, children cannot concentrate in school, adults cannot work, and seniors cannot remain active. Hunger Network works to ensure that the food provided on an emergency basis is nutritionally balanced, and is equitably distributed wherever needed.Operating as an independent nonprofit organization since 1995, Hunger Network’s roots go back to 1972. Hunger Network operates 54 sites and coordinates activities of 96 smaller programs. Meals are provided at a cost of 23 cents each from the pantries and 79 cents each from the hot meal programs. To use community resources equitably and responsibly, Hunger Network provides client liaison services, linking needy individuals to existing services for needs other than food; and client advocacy services, to raise awareness and educate policy makers about hunger-related issues. Hunger Network partners with 144 religious congregations and 6 neighborhood programs. Your financial assistance will complement the time and energy invested by a loyal cadre of over 600 volunteers. So make your donation today. Remember-a donation of $100 provides 400 meals for hungry people.
