Welcome Hunger Solutions Minnesota began as a January 1, 2001 merger of the Minnesota Food Bank Network and the Minnesota Food Shelf Association. Our purpose is to provide services to both food shelves and the six America’s Second Harvest food banks that serve Minnesota. Currently Hunger Solutions Minnesota is a collaboration of more than 300 members and partners working to eliminate hunger in the state of Minnesota.Hunger Solutions Minnesota supports the work of food shelves through financial aid, training, education and assessment of physical space. We work with the America’s Second Harvest food banks on a contractual basis managing the distribution of food product and government commodities.In addition to providing food and money, Hunger Solutions Minnesota also offers member food shelves ongoing support, services and education. We regularly conduct workshops on needed topics -- volunteer recruitment, management techniques, grant writing, space usage, changing trends in the grocery business, nutrition and networking. We also offer individual agency consulting as a way to help food shelves meet their needs and the needs of the community in which they live.
