Richard Hurd began his career in real estate investment in 1973, specializing in single and multifamily residential properties in the Central Iowa market. In 1981, Mr. Hurd founded the regional commercial development, brokerage and property management firm, known today as Hurd Real Estate Services, Inc. In 1986 Mr. Hurd accepted the assignment of representing Central Life Assurance Company (now known as AmerUs Life) in the disposition of their national commercial real estate portfolio. Over the years, Hurd Real Estate Services has acquired and developed office, retail, medical and industrial properties. The company has enjoyed an exponential growth pattern over the last eight years.
