Who is ICare? The International Cancer Alliance for Research and Education (ICARE) is a non-profit organization, 501(c) (3), that supports cutting edge cancer research and provides high-quality, focused, user-friendly, cancer information to each patient as well as their physician on an on-going, and on a personalized basis. Our Mission ICARE is devoted to creating an effective partnership for new research and dialogue among patients, physicians, and cancer researchers. Toward this end, the mission of ICARE is threefold: ICare is here to help YOU build YOUR triangle so you can make the most well-informed therapeutic decisions possible. ICare's Approach to Informational Support of Cancer Patients In the traditional cancer treatment scenario, the physician is the principal, and often sole provider of information on therapy options. However, it is difficult even for the most diligent physician to keep up with treatment advances, promising clinical trials and new therapy options. ICARE seeks to work with you and your doctor to insure that all available and approved therapeutic options are considered in designing your treatment plan. ICARE has developed several unique patient-centered programs through an extensive process of collection, evaluation and dissemination of information, bringing the cancer patient in contact with top physicians and scientists from around the world. This organization is operated by a network of world-class scientists, doctors, nurses, and students and lay volunteers, many of who are patients themselves. We've helped thousands already and we hope that we can help you. Please join our network as soon as possible, and let's get on to the road to recovery. The first step in letting us help you, is to let us get to know you and your problem better. To do this we ask that you register with ICARE. This will allow us to keep you updated with information that may be crucial for your “road to recovery ” and perhaps even your survival. With registration, you will receive a special booklet that we publish for each cancer called a Cancer Therapy Review. In addition, you will receive our more frequent publications Cancer Breakthroughs, Breaking News, Patient Experiences and Pharmaceutical Updates. Finally, we want you to receive information about upcoming ICARE symposia, teleconferences, webcasts and our outreach programs in your town.
