The Okinawa Kenpo Karate Kobudo system taught by Hanshi C. Bruce Heilman, includes a total of 51 kata: 21 open hand and 30 weapons kata. (Kata List) The open hand katas trace their lineage for the Shuri-te and Naha-te orthodox systems. Hanshi Heilman was a senior student of the late Okinawa Kenpo Karate Kobudo Grand Master Seikichi Odo (1926-2002), Okinawa, Japan.
