Description
The ICE CAP Chapter was founded in the Spring of 1992. The chapter meetings were originally held at the Chicago Board of Education Building on Pershing Road, but then moved in the summer of 1992 to Northeastern Illinois University's Chicago Teachers' Center on 770 N. Halsted Ave. ICE CAP members met there for about ten years and were grateful for the support that they received from the university. Our focus is Chicago-area instructional technology enthusiasts, and our membership includes all public, parochial, and private schools in the Chicago area serving grades Pre-K to 12. For 2010-11, our meetings will be held bi-monthly on the third Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Our goal is to meet at conveniently located model schools or offices. Our first meeting is set for Wednesday, October 6, 2010 featuring Arshele Stevens, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for CPS! Please see our "Meetings" webpage for more details! ICE CAP serves as a resource promoting information on technology and grants for computer education projects. Members share their expertise and experience with each other in various subjects and learning environments. There are four active committees that meet and carry out the work of the ICE CAP chapter: Please Note: ICE CAP welcomes your participation and leadership. We need many people to fill officer and chair positions that are vital to keep ICE CAP going strong. If you are interested in serving ICE CAP as an officer or chair, please let us know. Additional Board members positions can be added based on active participation with committee projects.
