Doug Miller is highly regarded throughout the State of Washington. As a member of the County Arts Commission, he supported the development of Ethnic Fest and helped create First Night Pierce County, making it the first and only First Night festival in the State of Washington. A few years later he was selected to serve as executive producer of First Night 1997 and under his leadership the event grew to include 200 performances and art-making activities in fifty venues located in four communities simultaneously!
