Our professional and compassionate associates treat patients in a courteous and respectful manner. Digital Mammography - Diagnostic and Screening Mammography is a low-level x-ray of the breasts. Its primary purpose is to detect lesions (abnormal growths) in the breast that may be too small or deeply buried to be felt in regular breast self-examination. The American Cancer Society recommends that every woman have a baseline mammogram around age 35, to establish what is normal in her breasts. It is recommended that women have a mammogram every one to two years between the ages of 40 and 49, and once a year after age 50. Your doctor may recommend mammography earlier or more frequently if your medical history indicates that you are at risk for breast cancer. Our patients will find our mammography services to be private, compassionate and complete. We understand the normal anxiety that is often associated with mammography and so we strive to make each patient's experience as comfortable as possible. Independent Imaging uses the GE flat panel detector which offers better image quality and high performance.
